I suspect a lot of us certainly can imagine how much psychology impacts MMO design. :)

I mean only to say it goes well beyond what most people think. There are entire teams of people that simply research how to psychologically hook people for MMOs, given the nature of MMOs to require constant payments to be profitable.

It honestly makes some of the crap Big Tobacco has done seem tame at times.

It's also why most MMOs aren't even really fun. They don't need to be fun. They just need to make you keep playing.
