I think this may be related to DUST a bit.

Just like Capsuleers are described as crazy, kill anything; the grunts are the same players and do inhuman stuff like run over civilians and kill anything that moves.

Slave Repatriation Convoy Breaches Ammatar Border
reported by CCP Falcon | 2013-01-16T17:29:12Z

DOMAIN – Yesterday evening a large convoy escorted by armed capsuleer forces crossed the border from the Minmatar Republic to Ammatar Mandate with the purpose of liberating slaves.

While initially reluctant to release further information, the Ammatar Fleet has confirmed that nine Fenrir class freighters belonging to Freedom Extension -- the Minmatar Republic’s largest commercial logistics corporation -- breached the Ammatar border through the system of Jark, disguised as a civilian convoy.

Accompanied by an armed escort of Electus Matari vessels, the convoy then crossed back into the Republic after docking in the Ammatar system of Sasta, two jumps from the border. It is believed at this time that the convoy took on an estimated 1.325 million slaves before handing them back to a representative of Electus Matari after safe transport back into the Republic.

In an address to the interstellar press, a spokeswoman for the Ardishapur Family stated outright that “this kind of barbaric behavior and lack of political etiquette is typical from the Republic, and shows a blatant lack of respect for the Ammatar authorities.” She continued, adding that “border forces protecting the Mandate from the threat of Republic incursion will be bolstered, and any attempt at breach of sovereignty from here onwards will be met with application of full lethal force.”

The press offices for both Freedom Extension and the Republic Parliament remain unavailable for comment, with rumor from sources within the Republic Government indicating that Sanmatar Shakor himself has expressed his jubilation at the outcome of the operation.

And also a fluff reason for not letting pilotss eject while in combat any more:

Introduction of wormhole-derived components has unintended side effects for capsuleers
reported by CCP Eterne | 2013-01-02T14:12:18Z

Yulai – CONCORD has released the results of an extended study on the effects of recent introduction of capsule components derived from wormhole salvage on the interface between capsuleer and ship. The study, initiated in secrecy early in the year after reports of increasing mental instability in certain capsuleers, has revealed shocking information that is leading CONCORD to refine security measures for pod pilots who wish to eject from their ships.

“The findings are quite explicit in their conclusions,” explained Dr. Marteen, a cybernetics professor with the University of Caille. “When a pilot ejects his pod from his ship while engaged in combat, the sudden traumatic disconnect can have a severe psychological impact.”
Dr. Marteen went on to explain that, in the past, such issues were not a concern as “the link between pilot and ship was less firm. The best analogy I can muster is that, before, capsuleers were colorblind. They had dulled sensations and weren't quite fully connected. With recent advances in the capsule, however, pod pilots are suddenly seeing in the full spectrum and everything is more real and deeply connected.”
The explanation for this change can be traced to the introduction of technology derived from salvage recovered from within wormholes. While actual wormhole relics – such as those used in the construction Strategic Cruisers – have not been introduced because of unusual incompatibility between the Jove-derived pod and Sleeper-derived components, many reverse-engineered concepts and components have found their way into the capsule and its interface with ships. While this has had untold benefits for ships, allowing for recent retrofitting and increases in performance across a variety of classes, it has turned out to have its downsides.

The most significant, according to the CONCORD report, is the danger incurred when a capsuleer attempts to eject from his ship soon after engaging in offensive actions such as activating weapons. “It goes beyond the simply disconnect normally experienced through disengaging from a ship,” Dr. Marteen explained. “Imagine swinging your fist at someone and then willing your arm to tear off mid-swing. That sudden shift in mental state is extremely jarring. That's why the problem does not affect those who see their ships simply destroyed, since the more violent event does not provoke such mental whiplash.”

The CONCORD report paints a bleak picture, attributing several mental problems to ejecting too soon, including some cases reporting symptoms similar to mindlock. However, the report also found that simply delaying ejection for roughly a minute will greatly reduce the risks to almost nothing.

In response, CONCORD has issued a mandatory firmware update to ship software that prevents pods from ejecting from a ship within a minute of having activated an offensive module. While acknowledging that the change will cause some issues for a segment of pilots, they believe the benefits outweigh the risks.

Oh great, amarr is the dog who gets kicked again and doesn't do as much as yap... GG CCP Falcon for showing your woefull anti-amarr bias. I'm not sure if he's just drunk the "OMG GALLENTE ARE BEST AND SPARKLE!!! OMG!" cool-aid sperged by tonyG or if its just him continuing his anti-amarr work from before his CCP carreer in a very meta-game'ish way.  :bash:

Edit: Oh, and, no, I won't give a shit about this or waste any breath on positive comments until the amarr navy finally torches Pator to the ground! Something that should have happened right after TEA, but obviously tony f***ing G had to pull CONCORD as a deus ex machina.  :psyccp:

Gallente bias again? Didn't we just have a thread here last month about the Feds losing an entire city to pirates with no military response? Seems pretty whipping boy to me.

As per Falcon here, that event was mostly driven by EM and does not qualify as a 'true' Live Event.

Perhaps you should arrange an event of your own about burning down Pator? :)

I'll conceede that point. Doesn't change the fact that the amarr are still entitled to get some payback.

I'm sure that'd receive as much free "officialised" press, right.  :| I just checked our internal forums and it's been a well known and proven fact that the "ingame news", aka The Scrope, have always been extremely biased against reporting anything done by the amarr bloc.

Contact Falcon.  Run an event that doesn't extend to "Burning down Pator".

Phrase your request politely.

Yeah, see, not gonna happen :D That's mitty's job, he's much more diplomatic and way less bitter than I am. I just make sure people have enough ships, lead fleets and make stuff blow up these days.

Fake Edit: Not as bitter as Lallara yet though. Big up to Lall' for managing this for such a long time, I wish I had your endurance :)

but obviously tony f***ing G had to pull CONCORD as a deus ex machina.  :psyccp:

And the Broker, and Jamyl Sarum, and the Elder Fleet coming out of nowhere, and Tibus Heth... TEA is so filled with damned deus ex machinas, that's even hard to understand that actually societies exist beyond those few individuals, and that throughout history individual weight impacts the world so much less than societal pressure.

In any case, don't worry Laerise if The Scope doesn't project our news, they're Gallente afterall, so they are biased against the Empire! :P We should make up a blog with the ANC news. :)
