Perhaps the reason for no change to the Caldari is they are trying to sculpt the other backgrounds to make them more interesting to a new player in an attempt to spread out the population a bit?

- Rewrote on account of the Khanid Kingdom gaining a Privy Council seat, instead of waiting for reunification.

That's a major retcon, given that King Khanid is not a Khanid, the Khanid Kingdom does not only have Khanid citizens, and not all Khanids belong to the Khanid Kingdom.

Or perhaps the lack of change to the Caldari is because the IP manager never bothered to read any Caldari PF in the first place.

Wouldn't doubt that

Khanid

New
Swept up by the Amarr's message of faith during the original Reclaiming, the Khanid were for centuries exalted members of Amarr society, until a bitter feud between the Empire and a Khanid heir forced a secession which led to the creation of the independent Khanid Kingdom. The Khanid have since come back into the fold, bringing an infusion of cultural and technological knowledge into their ancestral Empire.

Oh, now noticed that. Simply, the writer of that text piece apparently doesn't understand the difference of "Khanid bloodline" and "Khanid Kingdom". Let's not go into "Khanid Family". With some twisting, you could go with "the Khanid (Family) heir", but that's in no way apparent of the text.

Dammit, Mith got there as I was typing out the same response.

And yeah - clarification much needed, kthx.

I like the implications of Gallentians being punched in the face by walking up to a Minmatar as they so freely use another person's culture as a fad.

Uhh, I thought it was pretty simple. Khanid Family was a part of the Privy Council, a new Emperor was being selected who was not the Khanid heir, the heir of the House Khanid seceeded from the Empire instead of committing Sathol'syn.

They're all traitors and should be eradicated for breaking Gods law... but no, the Empire lacks balls.

Yes, we know the history, but new players don't. When the Khanid Bloodline Description mentions there having been a Khanid Heir, would you immediately jump to the conclusion that the Khanid Heir is actually True Amarr?

As Mith says, it doesn't even say Khanid Family. There is absolutely no way for a new player not to get the wrong idea here, and there is enough trouble as it is to try to explain the Khanid clusterfuck to people. All of the asian bloodlines had some seriously flawed introduction, but the Khanid take the cake - and now CCP seems hell-bent on making things even more troublesome.

So, are the Khanid now no longer original settlers on Amarr Prime, along with the other 3 ethnic groups? (True Amarr, Udorians, the Takmahl) ?

Or what?

The 'old' descriptions seem to be quite different to the original descriptions that I (vaguely) remember. Did anyone keep the old old race/bloodline descriptions?

It has to be an overlooked item. If they retcon King Khanid out of true amarr bloodline it's going to be extremely difficult to retcon my last 4 years of RP... :(

It....has to be a mistake. They've written tons about Tash-Murkon being the first non-true amarr heir, buying their way in....

This would be like making Tibus Heth Jin-Mei or something..... ffs.
