Empyrean Burners
« on: 18 Sep 2014, 09:21 »

So, im still kicking XD, i was reading this dev blog, http://community.eveonline.com/news/dev-blogs/some-npcs-just-want-to-watch-the-world-burn/
And was about the Burner Missions and how the burners destroy a lot of capsuleer ships (some battleship too) and all that.
But the interesting thing is...
Quote
The new wave of Burners are former special ops teams trained by the four Empires. They’ve decided to go freelance and have quickly emerged as a major threat to peace and order in the cluster.

Unlike the first Burners who exclusively work alone, these new additions work in teams of three: a squad leader flying a heavily tanked Assault Frigate and two support pilots flying logistics frigates. Each individual ship in this squad are much less dangerous than the first Burners, but together they represent a significant challenge for any Capsuleer.
So, this mean that the empires have enough power to bring down capsuleers or something like that, i guess

Of course they do - their navies are ridiculously large compared to the forces we can muster even if every player capsuleer joined forces - and that's before the actual loyalist capsuleers get involved.

This marketing vomit about the empires "losing their grip" is a crock of BS. They're not losing their grip - loosening, perhaps would be the better word. Doesn't mean they can't rein us back in or thin the herds if they really wanted to.

Morwen's Law:
1) The number of capsuleer women who are bisexual is greater than the number who are lesbian.
2) Most of the former group appear lesbian due to a lack of suitable male partners to go around.
3) The lack of suitable male partners can be summed up in most cases thusly: interested, worth the air they breathe, available; pick two.

This a couple thousand times. The empires could lay waste to all capsuleers if they wanted to. The rambling about us being gods that the empires have to fear is nothing more than null egos gone awry.

It's always a bit weird for balance purposes to see suddenly all special ops teams in every one of the four empires defecting together at the same time. xD

Well I could really well see that for one empire, but all at the same time ? Are they telepathic or something ?

"I really don't feel like filling out the new tax forms."
"Yeah, me either."
"I wonder if those guys have to over there."
"I dunno, let's go ask them. Hey, you guys have to fill out new forms?"
"Yeah, this is bullshit. We heard the Republic guys are just not going to do it."
"That's such a good idea."
"For real."
"We'll not do it if you guys don't do it."
"Deal. Someone tell the Amarr guys how brilliant we are."

TBH, took this to be more a case of,

"Hey, CONCORD. We've been handling our own rogues for a long time, but you know what? Turns out capsuleers will throw themselves at silly challenges if we jingle a bag of coins in their face. Can we contract this stuff out to them too?"
"Sure, why not. If everyone else agrees."
"Hey that sounds like a good idea!"
"Yeah, I want in on it too!"
"HEATHENSHEATHENSHEATHENS yeah we'll do it too"
"Okay, paperwork's right here for you all..."

I like the implications of Gallentians being punched in the face by walking up to a Minmatar as they so freely use another person's culture as a fad.
