Intaki Separatism
« on: 15 Nov 2011, 16:54 »

What is the current state of things in Intakiland? Is there still a strong movement for an Intaki state in lowsec? I need the lowdown on current Intaki politics from someone on the inside. Enquiring minds want to know.

I agree with the version where Placid is a safe and stable region, free from the control of the empires, where I can go to buy, sell and trade in the sorts of shady goods and services that are illegal everywhere else while enjoying ethnic solidarity and other such touchy feely nonsense, obviously.

o/ Yep Intaki Seperatism is alive and well

The Intaki Liberation Front is probably the most overt corp RPing that angle but there have been smaller groups like Intaki Pure along the way.

If you're looking for that black marketeering thing Anshar Incorporated were around a few months ago (and might be back soon?) who kind of spanned the Syndicate / Serpentis area.

In terms of recent events it's been primarily dominated by Faction Warfare related politics, most notably the internal divisions between factions within the State, the ILF playing a supporting role to Caldari liberals I-RED and having some scuffles of our own with the militia.

Apparently, someone hasn't been keeping up with the gossip and rumors thread.

The quick recap: A handsome Intaki Separatist of some renown spent a few almost a month in Villore trying to convince the Supreme Court to invalidate the voting prohibition act (the one that disenfranchised the Intaki System and its neighbors) and force a recall election of the President.

When that failed, he clone jumped out to Syndicate Space where he was seen traveling between stations with a surly looking group of militants.

The latest rumor is that this separatist leader was seen flying through Federation space in an Obelisk. One dockmaster was heard muttering, "What the hell does a pacifist need with 50 large crates of small arms?"

I've -- that is me, though it's likely also crossed Celeste's mind (Vieve doesn't concern herself with such matters anymore) -- occasionally wondered if some RP hay could be made out the disenfranchisement act's missing a couple of things.

a) a reversion clause  (and on that subject,  who is responsible for deciding when a system is no longer occupied?  Is this left solely to the FDU, the job of the Federation Navy, the President, or must each and every disenfranchised system petition the Senate and/or the Supreme Court in order to have their re-enfranchisement considered?)

b) a mention of whether the act was a one time action, or the ruling's being kept on active reserve so to be applied to any other systems that are deemed 'occupied' or 'under an unacceptable amount of foreign influence' -- y'know, by whomever's responsible for deciding such things.
