I highly recommend you all contact the new IC faction representatives via evemail. They do occasionally write back and there's a lot of opportunity for some good IC back-and-forth and plotting.
After not really having these sorts of contacts with faction reps ever (save a few sparing aurora and live events), this is quite a nice change of pace.
Happy plotting!
-
Despite some googling, I can't find a page saying who the reps are. Maybe there has been a post here that I missed, and if so I apologize. Do you mind linking the info?

Already messaged mine 8)
-
Probably waiting a bit here, but Aelisha will definitely be returning to the front lines of roleplay once I have some post-closedown stuff sorted in Nisaba Syndicate.

Much appreciated.

I sent a particularly nasty mail to the Royal Khanid Navy Commodore a while back, and I got an awesome response.
Excerpt:
"... I dirty my eyes by reading your message and dirty my mouth by dictating a response. Even the slave that is typing this is being dirtied by the process. I shall have to have him commit several hours of atonement to cleanse him once I am finished.
Were you standing before me, I would take great pleasure in throttling you with my own hands and tossing your broken body into an unmarked grave as your name is struck from the Book of Records. Your former "comrades" in the RKN that you betrayed with your desertion share my sentiments."
Check and Mate.
I'm keeping correspondance with the Blood Raiders private, though, but equally cool.

Confirming the contacts will eve-mail you back.

This is epic.

The Sansha contact appears to have an unique monocle.
-
Yeah, a bunch of them are wearing clothes we don't have yet. I remember that monocle being on SiSi quite a while back.
This whole endeavor makes me so happy though. Will be sending a message to my contact pretty soon.
-
Who is Safai's contact atm? :O
-
My homegirl Anza Sagera with the SoE.
Yeah, I side stepped factions recently. 8) Didn't make a public spiel, but will be doing something along those lines this weekend.
-
From 'Kill All Humans' to 'Help All Humans'. Quite the change!
-
Auvier Bauvon. Mmmmmm. Guy's probably on FedNav recruitment posters.
-
Hmm...
Why do Gallente women look so damned surprised all the time?

Shit, sorry. *zips up*

Oh, I think you know.
What is that white stuff dripping from your avatar's lips?
-
Milk :3
-
I have to admit, I suddenly all out of ideas about what to write to them...
Well, actually, I have some crazy evil plans  but they require not dev actors, but more like many many peoples with guns (ships (big ships (really big ships)))

I would love to go all ga-ga over our new contact, but I have no idea what to tell him.
The war is fierce, grueling, and bloody. All is as it ever was.
-
I got a really easy/lucky contact hook in that the Angel actor is assigned from the "Skarkon Unit" apparently. Which is rather \o) for me.
-
Lol at myself/Seri clashing with Thoun constantly. He fascist dog, comrade!
-
I would love to go all ga-ga over our new contact, but I have no idea what to tell him.
Similar here. While I think it's great to have those contacts, I really don't see why suddenly we all should write 'our' respective contact just because we can. Unless I have nothing important to tell them I'm sure they will appreciate that they don't have to tell with some content-lacking letter that has been written simply because "everyone loves mail". ;P
-
Just tell them "reporting for duty sir".
-
I couldn't find a contact for the anarchist in Logan, so I made some other inquires. Will see how that all turns out.
-

Going from 0 back and forth and 0 contact with our factions to dozens of IC contacts to interact with, I think is a generally good thing.
If your character has nothing to discuss with an IC representative of the factions you support or oppose that's just fine, but I think it's a lovely opportunity.
Not all contact need be earth-shattering developments or dire communications. Sometimes a friendly hello just to build a repore can be worthwhile.

Yeah, me and the angel actor basically just talked about random stuff, with Saede( and me) trying to avoid fangirl gushing too much.
-
They added a Quafe contact.
Alright, who is the weirdo that declared loyalty to Quafe? :s
-
Did someone say Sanshavision?
-
Where we're going. You won't need eyes to see.
-
Well, corp leaders obviously have more sway with the actors as they can offer a large amount of aid to the contacts. A CEO can also delegate responsibility to other members, and inform the contact about who can offer what. For example, Mitara is contacting all of the Amarr contacts on behalf of the corp and telling who to talk to for fleets, intel, ect.

Quafe Loyalists! (https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=2183230#post2183230)

I believe we may have accidentally stumbled across ANSH's new new calling, Milo. B)
-
Haha, turns out it's Muck Raker. Who else, really.

A Quafe contact? Oh no. Oh, no no no no.
Must. Not. Interact.
-
Must not, furiously dog hump the new Citizen.
But that semi-annual report is coming up...

Well, if I look at the number of people directly and more importantly indirectly declaring loyalty to the bigger factions and I'm imagining everyone tries to talk some random stuff to 'build repore' it gets a lot of work, fast. Let's say that's per day a mail, each of which requires on avarage 5 minutes of attention from the actor, that is with 50 people (a conservative estimate, I think) writing one short mail per day 250 minutes a day: roughly 4 hours. With 100 people you can fill a work day of said actor, leaving no time for other activities but just friendly banter.
I think it's a good thing that probably not everyone in the corps declaring loyalty sends a mail a day to build repore. By no means I want to say with that that those people who engaged their respective actors should refrain from that, they are there for this as well and I'm sure they are able to manage their time. What I'm saying is merely that it is probably a good thing that not everyone is doing that.
I think there are good reasons not to contact them on a daily basis just to say 'hello'. I'll leave that to the corp/alliance leader.
-
What they are looking for here are the seeds for live events, no?
So if you can think of something that would lead to an event send it in. I've sent of a couple that would involve cargoes being shipped with transports to be protected along the way.

This ^
I'm attempting the same with Blood Raiders for the terrorizing of Imperials :P
-
So they need seeds? Very well, this I can provide.
Only thing I need is a couple of cups of coffee, english dictionary and a bit of free time, and I'll make a very super evil plan of world domination, or even two plans with some shenanigans. I'll write here if they work, that I will hope they do.
'Evil will always triumph because good is dumb' (Dark Helmet, Spaceballs)
*insert mad evil laugh here*
-
I hope they never create the ability to talk to, say, Jamyl Sarum.
80% of that inbox would be my cybersex attempts.
-
30% of these coming from you? ;P
-
Have you tried it with DED officer?
-
/me starts laughing manically for no apparent reason.
-
Waaaaaiiiitt.... you did it?...
-
Sami Okuuda is in the 37th Squadron, AKA 'Octopus Squadron' - the one Fatal and Rabbit defected from.
-
Really tempted to mail the Quafe rep.
This is what I get for not having a loyalty to anyone in particular >_<

Do you have a loyalty to ISK? Quafe is hiring...
-
Loyalty to ISK alone is loyalty nonetheless. (With apologies to General Varchild.)

First evil plan epically failed :|
At present, the Navy cannot spare resources to affect an effective assault on Federation holdings in Algolile and certainly not in Luminaire.
Or is it win?
I thank you for bringing your ideas to me. Currently, we believe the Federation's tripwire system to be doing as much harm to them as it is good. They are quite incompetent with its implementation. I have heard rumors that a CONCORD report will soon be released that will damn its effectiveness.
-
Second even more evilish plan failed too
We are unable to act extensively outside our designated conflict areas, so striking at the Senate is not possible without CONCORD intervention.
Maybe I should try something... well... less evil?
-
You keep doing what you're doing, Diana Kim.

It's just quite probable that they don't really want input from the players as to how to develop the conflict. What CCP's more looking after imho is to make the players feel as if they matter, not making them matter.

You so Jaded, girl!
That seems like a reasonable response to an assassination request of the Federal Government during a limited proxy war :P
-
With practically no connections to any major faction, I reached out to the Intaki Syndicate rep, since, hey we live there... Our conversation has been brilliant. Can't recommend any more highly to those people with an actual Eve faction go and reach out to their faction rep if they have no already.
-
Daclared my loyalty to the fed, but have no idea what to write to them :bash:
-
I've argued above that if you don't know what to write or are just coming up with topics like "How's the weather?", you're probably doing the actors a favor if you don't write. :) So, no worries.
Also, I'm not jaded, I'm merely realistic, I don't think that the specifics of LFs suggestions have much impact on the point I made. Also, I think it's in most cases a good thing that CCP isn't doing what the (majority of the) players want(s).
-
A contact for the Society Of Conscious Thought has been added.
-
OMG.
-
I'd say the best relationship with one of the faction contacts is a professional one. If you have something useful to offer to the faction, you'll have a good time talking to them. Waste their time with idle chit-chat or semi-useful fluff and you won't get much in return. Aldy has mailed one of the contacts on orders from his CEO with a particular goal (forming solid bonds of communication with useful individuals) in mind.
Remember, these contacts are there to facilitate live events and to help direct faction-aligned corps influence the story line through in-game action. They're not going to be doing /sip RP, this is srs bsns blow shit up RP. If you're not going to be in that or be helping that, don't bother, I suppose.

Taunting. Don't forget the glorious, glorious taunting.
:)

Fired off a message to the SoCT contact. First time in years I've been bothered to RP, feels like...
-
... sex?
-
Taunting. Don't forget the glorious, glorious taunting.
:)
Dunno... I wouldn't send a message for taunting. Of course, sometimes I can go wild on taunts in local, but just mail someone to taunt?
Meanwhile I'll continue to pester my faction contacts with other crazy evil ideas :P Maybe I'll get lucky and it will cause a live event
-
... sex?
Sigh, if you insist. *unzips*

My favorite reply so far was precisely from a mean-spirited taunting mail I sent to the RKN representative. Deriding his King and Kingdom, etc. :(
