Sufficiently low expectations hedged any real disappointment, but still... NPC empires with a stagnant narrative might as well be dissolved into sov space since players will actually do something with it.

While there's a mutual enemy - eg. Foiritan or Heth - they both hate more than each other, sure. But neither strikes me as the type of person that wants to share power or be told someone else what the limits on that power is.

We have a plan. More will indeed unfold and this won't be left hanging. We made the initial news item to set the scene for doing this with a bit of substance to it rather than just a one shot 'X won it this time' news item.
