Title: Default Theme broken
Post by: Horatius Caul on 26 Jan 2011, 04:00
Someone's done broken the default forum theme, so it's impossible to view the first pages of boards or to read threads outside of Print view.

The other themes appear to function passably however.

I can only get "Betty Boop" and "Asalet" to work fully.

I've set the default theme to Asalet for the whole forum, until I can get this figured out.

I've installed another theme (from the same person, since it's the only one I've found that also doesn't get the error so far). It's called 'Asalet' rather than 'Asalet v7' and it is easier on the eyes than the current default. If people use it with no problem, and I don't find something better, I'll set it as the default.

As a note, whatever the current theme is (I see a wavy graphic at the top of the page with Asalet V7 on it), when I look at the recent posts section on IE I can't see the links at the top of each post that say the board, the sub forum, and the topic.  They're too dark to make out.  And this reply box is a bit of a strain to make out as well.

And did the find new posts link go missing?  I can't find that either.

This white makes my eyes want to stab themselves with a spork.  Please to be finding a dark theme so I can come back and read this forum without going blind.

And here I thought we'd gotten hacked.

The other Asalet theme is dark - but you might have the opposite problem. Think the Absado theme is also darker and should work.

I think I can live with the Betty Boop theme.

Why did the theme break, is this forum hosted on some third-party service or something? I gladly offer any coding help to get the old theme working again, no promises I can fix it, but I can always try.

Edit: Heard you changed hosts. Did that break it? If it did, it is probably either the cache that needs to be cleared, or some setting is wrong. Try a full uninstall and reinstall of the old theme? I really liked it, so I want to see it return :P

This, so much this. It feels like my monitor is trying to kill me.

I'd imagine it was from the host migration. Something probably got mucked up in the file tree or code. I don't know much php and don't have access to the files myself, so can't say exactly what might have happened. Havo did a lot of custom modifications to that dark theme, so not surprised something broke during the move.

Please, Obi Wan Kenobi, fix the original default. You are our only hope.

I'm working on it actively. Got a few leads, so hopefully we'll have some progress soon.

Thank you!  *Dances.*

If you were wondering why we originally used that particular theme, this might have been...

/glasses

...an eye-opening experience.
