I don't think we've had a thread of this sort here before and I just did something that brought the idea to mind. So... :bear:
...you say "ISK" instead of "dollars".
-
...You see a newspaper article regarding the UK and you think "Ushra'Khan"
-
Your computer lags, and regardless of if you're playing EVE or not you blame Jita or the NC - although I guess we don't get to blame the NC much anymore.
-
...you are playing Battlestar Galactica Online and think, "This would be so much more fun with a skill queue."
-
Lies!
BSG Online will never be fun.

...you wonder why the jump in point campers don't use point, and then realize that they don't need it. Nor is it available. >.<
-
...you refer to items you bring around with you as your fitting.

lots of buffer = baitfit (http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_Bb4pdHgu5ps/TGm8EfkFZNI/AAAAAAAAAt4/HKbh63ZAgnw/s1600/popped-collar-2.jpg)

You arrive late for work and when the boss asks you why you say, "Lag."
-
...you see an oversized Harley pull in behind a little Honda motorcycle on the freeway, and everyone in your car starts shouting "gank gank gank!" at the exact same moment.
-
... you call out from the bedroom to entice your special someone with, "Warp to me and jump on contact."
... they get the joke.
... they get the joke by replying, "WDA!"
-
... you keep I(celandic)SK as a souvenir.
-
You open inter-office emails with 'Saisa' or 'Namas'.
-
EvE becomes your only job..
-
...you are playing Battlestar Galactica Online and think, "This would be so much more fun with a skill queue."
...or you wonder why your Condor isn't more maneuverable.

...or you wonder why your Condor isn't more maneuverable.
...or you try to navigate by point and click while hastily searching for your overview at the bottom of the screen the moment combat starts.
-
You tell a co-worker "One more stupid question and I will gank you."
-
You click on the bottom of the vertical scroll bar and become irrationally angry that the document only went down one page instead of going all the way to the bottom.
-
You hit the escape key and wonder why it doesn't give you the option to turn of your computer.
-
...you think that a couple million (currency here) is meaningless in other MMOs compared to EVE.
I get this a lot playing City of Heroes.
"One hour and 2 million influence? In eve I could ..."
-
... you get angry because questgivers won't tell you where your favorite alliance gank victim is located.
The lack of locators in WoW annoyed me endlessly when I still played that travesty.
-
You enter a motel room and are pleasantly surprised by the lack of lag.
*CQ*

... you read about Olympic badminton teams playing strategically to set themselves up for an easier path through the playoffs and have to think about why there's a fuss.

ROFL! I had this exact thought in the car while hearing about that on NPR.
-
When you go on a date and as for a Limited API key first.

Thirded, because someone I was with at the time was amazed by the plan. I had to explain that no, I'm quite familiar with the tactic and not amazed at all.

One of my friends summed it up nicely:
If you want people to try to win matches, make winning matches always beneficial to winning medals. Having a tournament structure that in some cases punishes winning matches and trying to patch that with a rule saying you must attempt to win, even if winning isn't in your long-term best interests is just lazy game design.

NOT trying to start a political debate, but...
...when you realize you're basing your opinion on political figures based on how similar they act to EVE players you know.
-
You open inter-office emails with 'Saisa' or 'Namas'.
-When you greet someone in person with 'Saisa' or 'Namas'.
-You just completed the tutorial.
-
You hit the "Start" button (PC bottom left for Mac users) and get upset when you don't undock. :bash:

Well, that can be part of the process of undocking....from your PC :9.
-
You work in an escalation based environment and instead of referring to the "tiered" support path, you start saying "tech"
Ie.
Tech 1
tech 2
tech 3.
Get suddenly confused when you have to escalate further as there is not tech4.
refer to skill proficiency in resume's as "troubleshooting 5"
Extra credit if you get hired by an employer who knows what that means.
Local proxy port 26000 through ssh (putty) is one of the first things you setup on your work computer.
-
You don't undock.

You open inter-office emails with 'Saisa' or 'Namas'.
LOL'd so hard, I have yet to respond to a client with a greeting of 'Salve', thank goodness :)

Pre skill queue.
You wake up in the middle of the night for no particular reason, start up the computer just for the hell of it and have 15 seconds left on a long skill after you log in.
-
...you actually get frustrated at other games for lacking ambiguity when you go to create your new character concept.
-
When you totally forget you can report people for scamming in other games.
-
When you look at Lehman Bros. and go "Damn, fair play"
-
... when you know your skill que is empty, but you couldn't be bothered with logging in to put a new skill in because of the effort required :bittervet:
-
...you quit to focus on RL and realize you've been going to five years
-
...you look at other MMOs' (safe) game systems and think "Nah. What's the point?"
...you say the above even though all you have done in EVE is carebearing in hi-sec.
-
... you keep I(celandic)SK as a souvenir.
I keep some in my wallet :(
