https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=133461After prompting by multiple players, I'm going to put together a proper Caldari/I-RED RP event. This is the OOC thread for discussion of it, and to help clear up any misconceptions and such of the rules and spirit of the event.
Attractions:Public Speech by I-RED Executor John Revenent "Winds of my Ancestors"This will be John standing up in front of the crowd and reading a short speech. It will include some personal moments, his hardships and dreams, and will aim to be quite moving. It will bring a human perspective to the bulky entity that is I-RED.
Q&A with I-RED Office of Public Relations and Vice ExecutorModeled after fanfest, this will be a very formal Q&A press conference session. Each person will be allowed to ask a single question when selected by panel members, and each question will probably be answered. Loaded questions and troll questions may not be answered.
Awards and Recognition Ceremony - Members and AlliesMembers of I-RED will recieve awards either in person or in absentia. Certain blues (maybe even rival 'reds') may be also granted recognition for exemplary thingamajigs they may have done.
Unveiling of I-RED's Newest Product - To be revealed only during the event!Not going to spoil this one, but I-RED will be unveiling a new product developed and produced by I-RED. This will not be reflected in game mechanics, and will not be marketed to Capsuleers. It will be a direct reference and tip of the hat to an older fiction that has greatly influenced Science Fiction as a whole for many many years.
Round Table Discussion with I-RED - Moderation EnforcedAgain taken from fanfest, this will be a much more informal discussion table with people selected after the Q&A. If you ask good questions and show a civilized and mature tone during the Q&A, you may be invited to the Round Table to ask as many questions as you'd like, within reason - pretty much all of which will be answered. If you troll here, you get hauled off and away.
Features:Tea, Full Bar & Kitchen, Tobacco, No ContrabandThe I-RED lounge's kitchen staff and bartenders will be on duty to give your characters all they need! We won't have many Gallente/Matari/amarr items available, but everything Caldari made is. Even Protein Delicacies.
Civilized Relaxation Lounge - Moderated Attendance EnforcedFor those higher class characters who don't want to be seen in a 'club' or whatever, they are welcome to sit in a smoking room and discuss things with monocles and brandy.
Live EntertainmentWe're taking offers for live entertainment such as Morwen's music. Anyone who has something nice to provide is welcome to offer, but due to time restrictions, we can only fill so many slots.
Gambling & Sports - Real ISK!There will be gambling tables and betting booths for typical Caldari sports, in typical Caldari fashion. This may or may not be actually hosted by us in anything more than a vague IC way. We have plenty to host already. there will be a lottery hosted, the idea stolen from Silas. We'll give away some faction ships - but you'll be required to buy a ticket.
Dancing & Martial CompetitionsAgain, this may not be actually 'hosted' by actors, but will be there from an IC perspective. If two players would like to box each other or wrestle or something, they are welcome to post here so we can arrange it as live entertainment.
Attendance DetailsCapsuleers Only - Please don't expect to bring non-capsuleer characters. If they can't use a capsule, they cannot attend.
No Slaves or Armed Escort Allowed - Simple enough. Holders leave your slaves at home. Slave characters must also stay at home. No armed bodyguards.
No WeaponsNo Contraband - No you may not snort a line of Crash and huff some Mindflood.
Age Restricted - 21 or Older - Sorry, no kids.
'Reds' Welcome - We Encourage Your Thoughtful Participation at the Round Table and Q&AThis is important. Even if your toon doesn't like I-RED, you are encouraged to attend just so you can call us out on our actions or goals IC at the press conference. While this is essentially an I-RED circlejerk event, we do welcome hard questions as long as they're actually questions.
Ishukone Watch & I-RED Enforcer Security ProvidedThey WILL shoot you and kill your character if you cause trouble.
This will all be a proper Caldari themed RP, staged in a pleasant but minimalist setting. There will be dancers and there will be gambling and drinks - but it will be done in ways that more aptly fit Caldari sensibilities. Everything will be legal, and everything will be rigidly controlled. It's not a wild all out orgy of hedonism, but it will be fun.
There will also be plenty of serious looking men and women about, talking about srs bznz stuff. The object is for everyone to learn something about I-RED and have SAFE and LEGAL fun.
