My take on it? With Mittens now chairing the CSM and Darius JOHNSON running CCP Security, clearly Hellmar gave in and the Goons now run CCP.

Honestly, I just wish the new forums had nothing to do with EVEGate.

EVEGate is broken for me more of the time than it has ever worked.

Like now. Broken. It's not even worth a grunt of annoyance, it's just EVEGate being what it is.

Forums are down now. @HelicityBoson found a serious security flaw earlier allowing HTML injection.

This won't be the end of it, BTW. The chances that CCP has done a thorough code audit are between slim and none, and slim just warped off the grid.

apparently teh forums allowed people to post as other people, to edit other people's posts, to view & post on restricted forums - i.e. CCP/ISD/CSM/GM forums, to use moderator tools, and possibly much more.

Yeah, see SHC for more. (And it turns out Helicity told me about it but wasn't the discoverer.)

I think it came down to a layer they put on top of some existing software, but I can't check anything right now for obvious reasons.

The fact that such foundational errors were "patched" and "tested" so quickly makes me highly, highly suspicious. I'm more or less with you.

Also, I can't use them because apparently neither Firefox on Ubuntu nor Chrome (on Win7 OR Ubuntu) works properly with them when logged in. >.<
