CCP Dropbear has removed the "fiction"-tag from this EvElopedia-entry. (http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/CPF_Blue)
The fictional content of this page has not yet been verified, and is not considered to be canon.
I guess it's fair to assume that this holovid-series is to consider canon and therefor part of (Gallente) PF now. I wonder what else might become canon this way...

Edit: As a world-building shortcut, I deliberately loaded that article with references to specific elements of entertainment media and pop culture throughout the cluster. If he's blessing off on it, there's quite a bit more than just the show "CPF Blue" to be taken from the entry.

I do not know if removal of the fiction tag automatically makes an evelopedia article cannon. I think this is more of a case where the the content of the article was acceptable for the "non-prime fiction breaking player created content" tag and as such only had its reading experienced reduced due to that annoying disclaimer. In fact, I had never seen that disclaimer on any player created fiction before I saw the "recently edited" notice that Dropbear had removed it.
Whether CPF Blue exists or not it totally up to the players; if nobody ever refers to this series the existence of the evelopedia article matters little to the EVE Universe.
I, and others, have previously come up with all kind of weird stuff they have been watching on Impetus holoreels so the concept here is not exactly new. Anyhow, I am certain Jowen is watching CPF Blue too.

I am wondering if they will update the other ships in the game to reflect modern information? The Scorpion's prototype phase has been ongoing for nearly a decade now.

It is a bid odd why the descriptions of the four new battlecruisers are so radically different to all other ships. Even the terminology is different. Maybe they plan to redo them for all ships?
