As one who invested heavily in Eve lore to such an extend that it was practically my major reason for subscribing to the game, I am obviously going to buy the "cheap ass" version of the book.

I have learned my lesson.

I may or may not have gotten it for space barbie purposes.

Maybe they'll finally include female versions of the Ishukone Sterling shirts.

Alas, not going to have the cash for this myself.

I like the implications of Gallentians being punched in the face by walking up to a Minmatar as they so freely use another person's culture as a fad.

Ye Gods! He will turn all the Paladins into Ultramarines and Sarum Jamyl will create supersoldier clones of herself and be their 'Spiritual Liege'.

Let's add CS Goto into the roster and make Ravens fire Multilasers.

And the Necrons Sleepers shall forge alliances with the Blood Angels Raiders.

I opted for the e-book version off Amazon £12.something so about $25 (I think) I never bought the CE but I'm considering it now, was/is it worth it.

The CE, both the 10th Anniversary Box and this, is not 'pound for pound' worth the investment on material and e-goods alone.  But if you're particularly into fan-collectibles then they do present a fairly one of a kind opportunity when they come with 'all frills' such as the signed lithographic art.

As with any collectible, you're paying a premium for some minor guarantee of rarity.  The book itself is already being sold on sale and was the subject of a Valentines sale on the Musterbrand store last I checked, so if you just want the book, I strongly advise going the most economical route possible as there is no attached resale or collector's item benefit to ownership.

This. While I would have enjoyed having the CE, I didn't get it because I'd rather have collectibles that will maintain their value. This isn't one of those that in twenty years will be worth a whole lot. It is purely for one's own enjoyment of obtaining rather than traditional collecting.

Thanks Jace Sarice and PracticalTechnicality this information will definitely help me make my choice admittedly it boils down to the age old I would like but can I justify the cost so knowing me it could still swing either way  ;) .

Obviously, there is nothing wrong with obtaining something purely for your own enjoyment. Collectables aren't always about future value. We're not talking about first printings of Dracula or something here.
