Hello everyone!

CCP Sledgehammer here to update all you lovely capsuleers on the wonderful new sights coming to you in Rubicon 1.3, courtesy of the best graphics team around, Team TriLambda.
  • To kick things off, we have completed our V3 work on all asteroids! All asteroids (ice included) have been renovated for Shader Model 3 and are in client now, we'd love to hear your feedback on how they look at your end.
  • Territorial Claim Units have been V3'd! They correctly display alliance logos, have activation animations and rotate again.
  • Redesigned Tristan! Everyone's favourite Fat Man has a new sleeker look and has been increased in size to make it comparable to it's T2 variant, the Nemesis.
  • Linear Lighting! We have implemented our first pass of Linear Lighting on ships. This shows up detail better as well as an increased richness of colour. As it stands, certain users may perceive ships to be darker. We'd like to emphasize that this first implementation of linear lighting is the first step in overhauling our lighting system and this darkening is an issue that we are actively seeking to resolve with further improvements to the lighting system and thus should be treated as a temporary change. Despite this, we would really like to hear about any ships that you consider to be too dark so please post here or submit a bug report.
We have more features to disclose, coming up soon! Stay tuned to this thread for updates.

If you see any issues with these changes please report them in this thread and/or submit a bug report using our in-game bug reporter, accessible from the F12 menu

Farewell, Fat Man. Survived by the ugly-ass Atron and the awful Imicus, there is no justice in New Eden. :(

Not honestly sure the Tristan needed its overhaul. As is, it feels to me like each of the 4 big 'arms' could comfortably hold a medium or couple of light drones without much issue.

I like the implications of Gallentians being punched in the face by walking up to a Minmatar as they so freely use another person's culture as a fad.

So, when will they make the Breacher make sense? I still can't see where those two drones are coming from.

Yes. A little more Caldari, even, what with the extra angles and edges. I like. Not all change is bad.

personally, i would have prefered the navitas being the explorer frig, and the imicus the logistics one.......specially since t2 hull of a navitas would have been really  nice.

I still don't get why they updated the tristan, which already looked great, instead of the atron and imicus.

Because as posted above, the other two are being updated also, but the Tristan is finished first.

From concept to release, the process of remodeling is very long and involved process. Actually modeling the ship doesn't take very long. It's the exhaustive process of quality assurance and vetting that takes so long. Maybe the Atron or Imicus were sent back for re-working after geometry errors were found, or maybe there was some other hold-up along the very lengthy process.

We don't know why Tristan came out first, but I seriously doubt it's because they are not going to do them at all.
