No more learning skills what you think about that:

I think I need to figure out what I want to spend 2 million free sp on

I'm happy they go away, learning skills were not a good design decision. :)
-
My character feels smarter already! :D
-
I think I'm glad I read this before I spent ISK today on the advanced learning skills for an alt.
-
About fucking time.
Awesome.

The tables... have been balanced.
Now I got to think where I'm distributing this 2m SP in Learning skills. Also, what is going to be the gift for Christmas when we're getting this on the 14th? This is already a wish for many people to come true. :D
-
This is half of the Christmas gift. They haven't told us the other half.

Redundant threads are not very efficient, Mr. Sanshapants.
-
At least I get 5 million more SP for Caldari Titan or something. :bash:

Topic says it all. How do we all feel about that?

Personally, I think it's great. I can't wait to spend my several million skillpoints on kewl skillz!
-
Already being discussed (http://backstage.eve-inspiracy.com/index.php?topic=1396.0). :)
-
3rd topic on this? can we get a fourth?
-
My bad, I saw the topic but didn't realise what that was.

"Oh great and mighty Mods, please delete this thread as a display of your amazing power!!"

Or merge. Honestly though, where's the first topic, before Ghost's?

I too am excited about this. It reminds me of a recent policy in Australia.
In the midst of the Global Financial Crisis, the Australian Gov't gave all tax-payers a lump sum payment, and encouraged people to spend it on random consumption to boost the economy. When I got mine, I resolved to spend it on frivolous things.
I'm the same with this skillpoint boost. I should spend it on sensible things: searching for good support skills, maybe some armour skills.
But instead, I'm spending it on pure fun, awesomeness!! I'm considering the idea of getting Amarr cruiser straight to level 5, as well as laser skills.
Go from a complete Amarr novice one day, to an Amarr pro the next!!
Has any RP justification for this been posited? Do you think there will be one?
lolol
* This will also involve cancelling any and all market orders containing these skills. Contracts containing learning skills will have those skillbooks substituted for copies of the Pax Amarria.

My first thought was "Craaaaaap, don't make me train Vieve on carriers!"
Then I realized she hasn't maxed out Electronic Attack Ships yet. Or learned Dictors/Heavy Dictors. That should chew up some of those points, and with luck I can tuck in enough odd skills so that she won't have to train Caldari or Minmatar. :D
-
Ahhh, much better.
(Topics were merged, in case any latecomers get to wondering.)

Well that explains why I never found the damn thing.
-
3 points on this.
1 - The only feature learning skills ever truly provided for EVE players was to teach the nubbins' the value of patience - wait now, profit later. That said, I don't think EVE's rather brutal reputation is going to be cut down by this much.
2 - Remember, people, that refunded SP has no expiration date. If you don't feel you have something to dump it in now, feel free to store it until you see a reason to use it.
3 - Best thought out major feature of Incursion yet, C/D?
-
Ghost, you have the learning skills all to 5, right?
Because I do.
Delicious, delicious SPs.

Learning 5, basics to 5, advanced to 4.
I never trained the advanced to 5, which is one of the factors that put you ahead of me YEARS AGO IN THE DARK AGES.
BUT NOW WE WILL SEE WHO SITS IN THEIR +5 CLONE THE LONGEST

When it comes to sitting in station in a high-end clone, Silver has no equal... ;)
-
I left my advanced ones at 4, so I'll only have about 2.2 million SP to play with.
Think I'll leave the points un-assigned, in case some new pwn-ship gets added. Should give me a nice advantage in training for it.
-

My justification for the change is that CONCORD now requires pilots to have done this training before they can register for a licence, whereas before it was optional professional development done after graduation and initial licensing.
I may well handwave the change to my current characters. If I had a go at justifying a character getting a wodge of points to reallocate, it would be to say that they're sort of moving some of my head's program files into the OS (learning skills go to default character attributes). When they do that it's possible to slip more program files into the space that had already been prepared and used.
Your justification may differ.
-
I don't plan on addressing it IC, really. Don't see where it will actually come up.

 Why would anyone do that?
-
If they don't want to train for carriers? :p

EAFs are good in some specific situations. Just not enough, because they're even less common than titans now.
