Ronnie James Dio, influential metal ICON.  Replaced Ozzy in Black Sabbath for a while before forming his own band, still worked with Sabbath off and on over the years too.  Epic talent, great singer. awesome metal.

And for those of you who might not have heard, a group has formed proclaiming that Dio did not, in fact, die of stomach cancer. In reality, he died while fighting a dragon that was going to attack the Earth.
