Title: Re: CCP and differing fictional applications of Gallente/Caldari versus Amarr/Minnie
Post by: Boma Airaken on 07 Oct 2010, 01:30
It seems pretty clear to me.

People associate with the big four for all the wrong reasons.

People associate with the biggest two because in the past they were rewarded.

People don't associate with the others, except for maybe the Guristas, because there is nothing in it for them.

There is a reason why the RP community in EVE is so small, and so shat upon. EVE RP'ers think they are special and they want a reward for what they think is a contribution to a game universe.

Amarr and Minmatar have a 5+ year old rivalry that included ingame rewards.

The Caldari and Federation RP'ers managed to somehow be more boring than the whole slave vs slaver thing.

Think about it the next time you post an Obama-eque teleprompter speech on IGS.

We might also associate with the big four because we have our own thoughts.

We might not associate with the Guristas because piracy for the sake of piracy might be the most boring variety of RP in existence.

Some of us might find the eternal argument consisting of "slavery is wrong" and "slavery is right" being thrown over the tennis net of Amarr/Matari debates even more boring that the Guristas.

Think about that the next time you put other people in a box and set yourself apart, after belittling them for "thinking they're special."
