I know the entire Internet has been banging on about it, but I couldn't reiterate it more. I don't know if I enjoyed being mentally exhausted by Spec Ops: The Line, nor do I know if I derived some sort of masochistic enjoyment from it making me feel miserable. I didn't feel miserable due to the certain turning points in the game, more just how nihilistic and hopeless things get over time.

Even the rather standard, non-innovative gameplay serves a purpose in the narrative.

I'll echo the statement. Play it, at least once. Don't have to twice (although I didn't find the game play -that- bad), but at least once. The experience is worth it.

I will keep it in mind and try it when I find the time. Its price is also very attractive for a triple A game.
