CCP is running a contest on DA for artists to create their own spaceship and the best drawing will become a ship in game.

fixed. The problem is even the ones that are good don't look like eve ships, they look like something the combine, or maybe gundam would have. The people who made the designs just don't play eve. Come on, 12 main guns, a supergun, 30 point defense batteries, and torp batteries? What game is that? It ain't eve.

Wondered what sort of ship I would make if I could and imagined something along the lines of a Minmatar Drake.  Godly thick armor tank with a heavy emphasis on missile systems (HAMs > heavies) rather than projectile turrets.  Scratched this up.  Estimating ~600-700m in length.  A "heavy battlecruiser" somewhere between a HAC and BC.  Wrapped in ablative armor (a la the Nid and Hel), with a big rack of engines (a la the Belicose) to move all that mass.  Would you fly it?  Worth the time to take further and make into a complete entry?  Suppose it could also serve as a command ship or EW platform of some kind.

Edit: Continued down this line of thought and have arrived at this...

Who else is working on a submission?  I fully support any and all efforts to buff up any Backstage-affiliated entries.

That's a concord ship, frigate type. I've seen them buzzing around gates....or at least, it looks VERY similar.

Needs more Sanshabots. Also, less starfighters, lots of submissions look good on X-Wing, but would be about the size of drones in EVE.

...hm, I have a few ideas which sounded good last night in my feverish head, now'd need some time to draw.

I wish I had artistic skill of any variety, I'd like to make a mean-looking Caldari ship. Or Matari. Something ugly with a lot of DAKKA!
