If being isolated from other people caused addiction, I should probably be an addict a few times over by this point. Generally, I only see people at work, and even there I don't have too much time to talk to employees.
Perhaps it's not just human contact, but how much you enjoy your life.

I hate my life, and I do a lot of drugs.
Makes sense to me.

I am borderline shut-in (only reason why I am not a total shut-in was because I have to leave the house/room to go to work, and even then I keep to myself most times). The only drug I do is computer games.
