Star Wars game nostalgia thread! Who remembers being scared of the Dark Troopers?

Same here.

And Rebel Assault 2 was way too much fun for an on rails shooter.

X-wing Alliance was my first taste of multiplayer gaming I think and I learned to fear turrets on transports.  One YT-2000 shreaded my X-Wing in one pass.  Most awsome mission, the pick up run in past the Executor.

And I agree with the rest, TIE fighter was awsome.  You have not lived until you survive missions in an underarmored ball with NO SHIELDS.

It was, actually, Cael. I have a CD for the Windows port.

Huh, never knew the first one got a Windows port. II and III were GC exclusive though IIRC, which is a pity because Rogue Squadron 2 is utterly stunning.

Amen to that. TIE Fighter is one of my favorite Star Wars games ever.

As to SWTOR I liked the beta, but couldn't justify the price for what I was thinking I was gonna get. I tried it when it went free to play...and while it wasn't that bad it wasn't great either. Could be different now though. I dont know if EA had the reigns when I tried the free version or not.

It's funny but the more I think of it, the more I think that SWTOR could have been a Borderlands 2 with a decent gameplay/story to play between 4 friends playing different classes... And making storyline choices.

Since nothing encouraged or made the actual MMO part of the genre in that game.
