The Gallente and Greek Mythology
« on: 05 Dec 2016, 13:23 »

When I made this character I picked Gallente because I am a mythology nerd and liked that a lot of their ships were named after ancient gods and goddesses. I picked a name from Greek mythology cause I thought it would be fitting, but the more I think about the more I wonder where exactly the Gallente got those ship names from. Did a copy of a book of old Greek myths survive into the Rouvenor era? Would that mean that these myths are canon IC?

How do you think it works?

Something something CCP divisions not strictly talking more then likely.

Ship development and naming doesn't always accurately tie in to the lore, like why would the Amarr/Khanid be using a ship class called the Heretic?

I've personally not put much truck in the ship names for this reason.

It's King showing once again the finger to the Empire (like with upside down symbol). You have your devoter, well screw you I will name mine - sacrilege and put missiles on it! ;P
