Myes (http://www.eveonline.com/news.asp?a=single&nid=3944&tid=3)
Camera drones showed large crowds of refugees heading toward the bridge leading out of camp when they suddenly surged forward. During the crush, iron railings on the bridge gave way, and hundreds of people fell into the water. Many victims, mostly women, children or elderly, were crushed or drowned.
This is relevant. 8 seconds through (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GJReZRji7tg)

Interesting to see how the general public is responding in the Empires.
I doubt it was Sansha spies as it is not typical of their brand of work.

Sympathizers. Anarchists. Anyone who could benefit from a few hours panic on a major homeworld. Could have been anybody behind the rumors. Whatever the case, this doesn't say much for the quality of programming control at the Scope nor for the diversity of information sources in the Republic (they only watch Scope news?).
Anyway, I wonder why we only saw the retraction/story-about-the-story without the original piece that set off the panic. That would have made for an interesting little mid-week storyline with potential for further development.

Shadowrunners!
[AmarrProvist]Also, this is exactly why you shouldn't allow independent media. [/AmarrProvist]

I think the scope is probably the 'trusted' news source. Course, now that this happened, maybe NOH will gain market share. I think ACN probably still would have a long way to go, though.

Does the Republic even have a news service?

The Leisure Group (http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/The_Leisure_Group_(NPC_corporation))?

I'm retarded it seems, I drew a complete blank in the Minmatar sector.
Thanks.

Which provides links to Caldari Funds Unlimited (http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Caldari_Funds_Unlimited_(NPC_corporation)) and Eifyr & Co (http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Eifyr_and_Co._(NPC_corporation)). Which creates all sorts of tangled webs to the Caldari and Serpentis (and through them the Cartel).
The Leisure Group is an entertainment company that is known for its barbaric, yet stirring, pleasure nodes.
I think their news network might carry it; but it will be entertainment and not news. The Leisure Group is like CNN/Fox not Reuters.
