Wanted to add The Rescuers, a story of mice trying to rescue a girl being abused. I loved that as a kid but I'm unsure if it would hold up to rewatching as an adult, as a lot of stuff doesn't.

ALSO just remembered 'There's Good Boos To-Night' (didn't even know that was it's name)  It was on a video of short-film cartoons I had as a child. It made me cry  :( I found it again on the internets: http://www.archive.org/details/noveltoon_casper_tfg_theres_good_boos_tonight
